Please note that "Date Available" is often the day the dog gets euthanized... if the dog is not reclaimed by the owner (in the case of a stray) or if there are no holds on the dog by by a potential adopter. Most shelters will keep the dog for up to a week at most from the day it's found ('impounded') until it becomes "available". However, in other cases the dog may be eligible for adoption right away and so indicated by the "Date Available". If you are interested in any of these dogs, please visit that shelter soon to place a hold. Due to the high number of dogs that most shelters receive, they are rarely able to hold the dog very long pass the "Date Available" unless there is space. For this reason, it may be best that you call the shelter first to confirm that the dog you're interested in has not yet been adopted or euthanized, and is still there. 1024904 - "Oso" Oso is a 9 year old, neutered, Australian Shepherd Mix. Oso was found wandering the car park of Ralphs on Sawtelle and Barrington on April 21st 2009. Oso is a sweet old gentleman that is very well mannered and seems to think he is a lap dog! Oso is ok with other dogs but could not go to a home with cats. He doesn't seem to be the energetic type and prefers to live the lazy life!  He has a gorgeous coat.  He's very affectionate and comes easily when called.  Walks great on leash.
